Trouble installing new RAM stick
Hello.
I am having some trouble installing RAM into my Demension 4300. My PC Currently has 256MBs of RAM(SDRAM PC133) and I purchased a rosewill 256MB RAM stick(Yes, it is SDRAM PC133). When I put it in, windows would recognize the RAM upgrade however, would lock up after the Windows XP loading screen. The strange thing about this is it will run perfectly fine in Safe mode however will not work in Safe Mode with networking. After some frustration, I took out the orignal (dell) RAM stick and the PC loaded fine. Now whenever I stick in the original Dell RAM stick, it has troubles. Now, I did have the PC freezing occationally before I got the new RAM stick. It was very rare but it would lock up at times.
What should I do?
PS, if I made any horrible spelling mistakes or grammar mistakes/posted this in the wrong board, please excuse me. :P
EDIT: One other thing, I am certain it is not virus that is doing this, I did a reformat after it was locking up with the other RAM stick inside of it.
