Upgrading Precision 3420

Hi all,

I just purchased a Precision 3420 for personal use. I am thinking about installing a half-height GTX 750Ti (max power draw 68W).

I assume that if I install this card I will need to upgrade the 180W PSU, presumably at least to a 240W model. My question is, what PSUs are compatible with the 3420 SFF?

Tangentially, I would also like to install a 3.5" hard drive, but I have the model with the solid-state drive (and associated dual 2.5" drive sled). I see that the only other available drive sleds are for a 3.5" drive. If anyone has any recommendations for ways to fit hard drives of both sizes inside the 3420 chassis, I'd be happy to hear them. I'm willing to do a little bit of hacking. Otherwise I will just pick up a 2.5" hard drive for $60, but I am trying to do this on the cheap and it seems a shame to let the one I have lying around go to waste.

Thanks!

There's a 240W option for the small form factor 3420 - these aren't standard power supplies, so that's really the only option.

You'll likely need to call Dell to order that - they're unlikely available elsewhere at this point.

If you want to use a 3.5" drive, it'll need to go into an external case and be connected externally.

The two chassis are similar but I'd verify with the seller the PS is compatible with the newer Precision 3420 system.
