What are ActiveX programs?
I like the little tests that I can run on the PC PitStop web site to test such things as In-Memory viruses, Ping tests, Spyware check and others. When I click on one of these tests, a dialog box opens asking me whether I want to install the ActiveX program. If I say Yes, the ActiveX programs installs on my computer (I assume) and then runs the test.
My question is this, does the ActiveX actually install itself on my computer and remain on my computer or is it removed once its works is done - or isn't ever really ever installed on my computer to run these small utilities?

See the following:

Yes, they remain on your computer so that they don't have to be downloaded again.
