xps 730x memory upgrade question
So I currently have 6gb of ddr3 1066 memory and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it would be worth it to upgrade to 8gb or 12gb of 1600mhz memory. Mostly the computer is used for games like battlefield 3 and it will be used for battlefield 4. I was wondering if I need to upgrade or if what I have is fine and there won't be much difference. Also since it is currently 3gb of 2 sticks tri-channel will 2 sticks of 4gb work fine or would I need to go for the 3 sticks totaling 12gb because of the tri-channel? I have seen different people say this pc can do 12gb and others saying it can't so I am a little confused. I checked the crucial site thing and it says it lists like these but I have no idea about what timings to look for and if they need any settings changed in bios.

Dell XPS 730X has Tri-Channel DDR3 SDRAM system Memory with Three user-accessible DIMM slots and can have 3GB DDR3 1066MHz (3 x 1GB DIMMs) and 6GB DDR3 1066MHz (3 x 2GB DIMMs) so a total of 6GB memory maximum can be used.
By upgrading memory modules you might see a small difference in a system performance. Also the memory module that is given in the above link is not compatible as the speeds mentioned are 1600MHz.
