BIOS error on inspiron 5100

Hello,
I´m trying to upgrade my BIOS but it gives me an error saying "running an unsupported system" the version it shows is A06 system Inspiron 5100, Vendor Phoenix technologies".
Basically I need to reinstall Windows from scratch, but my computer wont boot from the CD so I want to go into the system utillities before windows starts, but it wont recognize the F2 key. Is there anyway around this?

When updating your BIOS on the 5100, you first have to flash with the A22 BIOS version before you can update further.

Do you have a floppy drive as I strongly suggest that you do not try to update by running the install from your hard drive. The failure rate when you do the latter is higher than when using a floppy or a CD.

If you do not have a floppy drive then you can get the A22 BIOS ISO and burn it to CDR. You can get the iso from  http://www.bay-wolf.com/flashbios.htm. If you read the instructions at the top of the page, it will guide you on how to burn your CDR in order to make a bootable.

To get the system to boot from the CD drive you will temporarily have to remove the hard drive till after your BIOS has been flashed.
