C640 Not powering up

My C640 has a problem with powering up. When I push the power button the indicator lights on the right will flash and after a second or two the laptop shuts down. I can tighten one of the "B" motherboard screws and it will turn on every time. Does this mean I will have to replace the motherboard?

    Hi,

You may have a bad MBD, but try to reseat everything first. Why are the screws loose ?

I'd suggest reseating everything and making sure all the screws are in firm.

As far as I could tell the screws were never loose. When this started happening I recalled reading somewhere that one or more of the screws that hold the motherboard in place also act as a ground. If the screws were missing or loose it may not POST. So I loosened then tightened all the motherboard screws and it worked. Now almost without exception I have to do this to get the laptop to boot.
