Cannot adjust screen resolution
I have a Inspiron 1525 running Home Premium 32bit. By default I'm running in 600x800. When click on 'Adjust Screen Resolution' in control panel I get
"The currently selected graphics display driver can not be used. It was written for a previous version of Windows, and is no longer compatible with this version of windows. "
When I click OK it does pop up the display setting window where 'Generi PnP Monitor on Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family" is displayed. The resolution slider cannot be changed. -1 by -1 pixel is displayed under the slider.
Intel Graphic Media Accelerator Driver for mobile is on this machine. When I try to look at the properties I get no window. I did notice that when I try to launch the properties for this app, an app launches called igfxsrve.exe that consumes half my cpu until I restart the machine. I suspect my issue has to do with this driver. One other note. I checked the display adaptor driver in device manager - It says 'Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family' version 7.14.10.1409.
Any help appreiated as always!
dave
