Command and conquer

I would like to know how much memory does the dell ispiron 1100 contains, dell.com says the laptop comes with Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics.

I would also like to ask if I can play command and conquer generals in this laptop.

Thanks.

if this is the case can i still play the game

Command and Conquer Generals won't run on the 1100's integrated graphics. The Inspiron 5100's Radeon 7500 or the Inspiron 8500's Radeon 9000 or GeForce 4 4200 Go would run it fine. The 1100's integrated graphics' memory is shared with the system RAM. Not sure how much RAM can be allocated for use by the graphics controller.

it is doubtful. my dated (only a year really) geforce2 go 32mb card can push it, but not on high settings. i play on 800X600. my girlfriend's old school tnt2 card can barely, and i mean barely push generals.  Integrated graphics are the worst compared to an actual video chip which uses its own memory and algorithms to draw and process graphics. Integrated things usually are just big moochers. BUT>>> you never know till you try!! wth, i used to play counterstrike on an emachine with 28.8K connection and an 8mb Integrated video card and still get some headshots! how sweet ( not sweet) is that!

    good luck , ~mk

I can't seem to run command and conquer generals very smoothly. Any advice would be welcome.

Currently running Dell Inspiron 600M 1.3 with 384 MB Ram, ATI 9000 card. Have latest radeon driver and still get shocking frame rate with C&C generals even set at 800 x 600.
    Any comments welcome to west@runbox.com
