I was working on a Latitude D800 that was acting flakey to begin with e.g. on bootup garbage graphics appeared on the screen for a second. I upgraded the system BIOS and several drivers. Finally on a reboot, there were 7 or 8 beeps and no BIOS screen appears. I tried a docking station, tried getting the system to boot off floppy or CD but it doesn't seem to be making it through POST. My suspicion is the video card was dying and finally died. The system has been out of warranty for a couple years. I'm guessing the best bet is to get a new graphics card from e-bay, but wondered if anybody has any other suggestions or a different diagnosis.
