Hello, someone answered me and asked me a question so I tried to reply via email only it came back to me so I will answer here.
I have a new Inspiron N5110 laptop with windows premium 7 64bit and my book says "Set up Ubuntu" first. don't know what that is or how to do it. it says See Ubuntu documentation for more operating system specific information. where is the documentation?
Thanks for your help

Hi frankhenry,
I see that accidentally you have created a new thread for the same post here: http://dell.to/134AQmK
Since your computer has Windows 7 operating system installed, you may ignore the instructions under “Set Up Ubuntu” in the User Guide as they are not applicable. Ubuntu documentation is supplied if the system is ordered with Ubuntu.
You may refer the following link for the online user guide for Inspiron N5110: http://bit.ly/13vZOMi
Do let me know if you have any further questions.

don't know what that is Ubuntu is an operating system. Windows is also an operating system but it not the only one. Ubuntu and others are alternatives to the various Windows operating systems.
someone answered me and asked me a question so I tried to reply via email You cannot answer via e-mail. When you get the e-mail it is just a notification that someone has replied to you on the Forum. If you choose to continue to participate in the discussion that you started when you began your thread, you must return to your thread in the the Forum. It is very easy to do that. In the e-mail notification that you receive, simply click on the name of your thread (the "subject" name that you gave the thread when you created it). The thread name in the e-mail notification is actually a link back to your thread in the Forum.
When you get back to your thread you will see a "Reply" area underneath the last person's post. Type your response into the reply area and then click the "Reply" button.
Note that you have started two threads on the same topic so be aware of that. One of them is this one that you named "laptop setup frankhenry" and the other one was your original, "Dell Inspiron startup".

Hi frankhenry,
Welcome to Dell community!
May I the exact system model that you have? Also, with which operating system did you order the computer?
