Error Code 1000-0142

Does anyone know what error code 1000-0142 on the dell diagnostic could be? I ran the diagnostic by hitting f12 at bootup, and it failed. It also said status byte = 79

    Your Hard drive failed diags.
     
    1000-0142  Drive Self Test failed. Status byte = XXh  Hard drive

    I can still use my laptop fine though. Does this mean I should go ahead and order a new one and back all my stuff up because its gonna crash soon??

    Yes, that would be a good idea. ALWAYS keep backups, whether or not you see a symptom of a failing drive.
