flickering battery light
I have also had my laptop for about one year. As soon as the warrenty ran out my battery light started to flicker, while plugged in to charge. I havent had to use it while running on the battery alone for awhile so I dont understand why this would happen. I am new to the forums and not sure exactly how it works. Do I need to keep checking for a hopful answer from someone? thanks!!
- Ok, same here. I have an Inspiron 6400 and almost never ran the notebook on battery. Always plugged in. Now, while the notebook is plugged, the battery light is flickering between orange and green. Bios says battery is in good health and is 100% charged. What's going on? Chris?

Thank for the suggestion. I reviewed the link for quite awhie and I found nothing that refers to a flickering battery light. Any other suggestions?Kathleen- Ok, just unplugged the power and let it run on battery for 5 minutes then plugged back in. Battery is not charging anymore, so I guess the battery is dead. After only 9 months. Almost always on AC power. Conclusion: stinky batteries. Pitty ... Can save some money for a new one. :(

If your system is 9 months old, then you are still within the 1 year warranty for batteries. If that is the case, contact Dell Technical Support for a replacement.
If you are outside of the 1 year warranty, you will need to contact Dell Spare Parts at 1-800-357-3355 option 4, for pricing information. Or you can purchase the battery online through a 3rd party supplier.

Well my battery light is still flickering. now from green to gone to orange to gone and back to green. I checked the battery life thru diagnostics on the computer and it says everything is fine. at 98% . Any ideas?
