Whenever I start my laptop I get a message to press fnx to run in normal mode....does anyone knows what this means and should I do it?

That means you are in Manufacturing Mode. You should have mentioned your model computer and operating system and whether or not you are still under warranty. If this is a new computer, contact Support. If not, you should try it--press the Function Key with the letter X. If that doesn't solve it, post back and maybe someone else can help. Mention when this started happening and what occurred before that. Did you just update the bios or make any other changes?

Thank you Mary for your reply. I did press the fnx and it fixed the problem, the message no longer appears.  This is my first laptop and it is new. I will remember to give more computer info if I have anymore problems.  Thanks again!!

Glad to help. I found the answer by using Google and searching for fnx error. Your new computer should not have arrived with that problem. You should keep using it, rebooting a few times and using some of the programs to test if you have more problems. Contact Support if you do.
