Hello,
If your FN key and your number lock key do not function you may want to download and reinstall the Dell Quickset Utility. The support pages for your model can be located here. Click on the Downloads and Drivers link and then make sure you change the OS to Windows 8.1. Click to open the category for Applications, and then look for the Dell Quickset Application. Download and run that installation, and hopefully it will resolve the problems that you're seeing withe the function key.
You can also download updated wireless drivers for your system from the same support pages. Your system has the Dell Wireless 1705 card in it, so click on the section for Network under Drivers & Downloads and look for the driver for the 1705 card.
Hopefully those two downloads will resolve the problems that you're seeing.

Hello,
Can you tell us what model of laptop you have? You can find out the model number by going to the Dell Support Pages, inputting your service tag, and the website will redirect you to the support pages for your system. You can also run diagnostics off that webpage if you want to check out the screen and/or video card to see if those are causing the problems.
Since you said that the system is new can we assume you're running Windows 8.1?
Also on the support pages for your system is a section for Drivers & Downloads. The Function keys are controlled by the Dell Quickset Application and you may want to remove that application from your system, download it again from the support site, and see if that resolves the problem
Let us know which laptop model you're using and which version of Windows and we'll try and come up with a bit more definitive information to help you.
