Gaming with a widescreen
i bought an I8600, but have not yet received it. i was wondering if while playing a game it will fill the full screen or just display the game with black bars around it. post some pics of gameplay if you can(not sure if it would show it though unless you acutally used a camera to take a pic of the screen)

Not entirely correct, there are actually three different ways (all accessable through the display driver settings so long as its enabled in the BIOS).
- Full expansion to widescreen, any game at even normal resolutions will scale to widescreen. No stretching is really noticeable on most, but on some you notice it.
- Expand whilst maintaing aspect ratio, which will expand the picture vertically to fill the whole space, but keeping aspect so that black bars will be on either side.
- No expansion, they will display at the appropriate resolution, unscaled, in the centre of the display with black bars all around.

Some games natively support the widescreen resolutions. In this case, it will fill the entire screen as expected. For games that don't support the widescreen resolutions, there are two options. If you have the option set in the bios to expand the image the picture will fill the top and bottom of the screen completely, but display black bars on the left and right side of the image. If the image expansion option is not selected, there will be a black border around the entire image, the size of which depends on the resolution of the game. I don't have any pictures, but it's not that big of a deal. With image expansion on, I don't even notice the black border. Since it is scaling to the native resolution of the lcd, the image is sharp and crisp looking, just as it should be. I'm sure you will love it, the screens on these machines are really nice.
