Hi Marz CJy,
Please let me know the exact error message. Did you check the status in Device manager? When does the error message show up? Alternately you can also try the following steps.
1. Check the status in Device manager, Click on Start Click on run type “devmgmt.msc” (without the parenthesis), look for Display Adaptors, expand the option and look for exclamation mark.
2. If an exclamation mark shows up, then right click and choose “Uninstall”, restart the computer.
3. Try updating the BIOS of the computer.
Note: Please ensure that battery is charged > 10%, all unsaved data is saved and all external devices should be disconnected from the computer except the adaptor.
4. To update BIOS, click on the link support.dell.com/.../index.aspx, Click on Find Drivers, BIOS, and other updates and type the Service Tag of the computer.
5. Choose the Operating System of your computer and then choose scroll down and click on BIOS.
6. Download and install the file on the computer and restart the computer when prompted.
Do write back for further questions.
