I inherited this laptop. When I turn it on, all I get is multiple colored vertical lines. Do I need to install a harddrive in order for it to boot up properly? I just wanted to get into the bios setup to make sure the machine was working properly before I invested money on ram and get a harddrive to install. I also know that I am to press Fn2 when the Dell logo appears, but I don't get the logo, only the lines. Suggestions?
