- Hello111 Repeating-codes
NumLock and CapsLock LEDs are lit and the ScrollLock LED is litProcessor or system memory communication failure. This is the only code that still flashes. It is not actually a code, but a repeating power cycle.Reseat RAM, Reseat CPU, Replace RAM, Replace CPU, Replace MBsincerely,icare4u sargetalon

I had the same problem with my PC not posting and the Caps lock light just blinking... I just upgraded my 3yr old 600M from the factory 512MB, 2 sticks of 256MB PC2100 RAM to Crucial 1GB, 2 sticks of 512MB PC2700 RAM. Afterwards, it would not POST. I reinstalled the old RAM and it would. I changed the POST settings in the BIOS from MINIMAL to THOROUGH and rebooted. I then put the new RAM back in. It posted, detected the new RAM and now works fine. I reset the POST settings back to minimal. I think it just needs to be changed for the initial detection of the new modules. I know this thread is old but I hope the info helps someone.Red Dragon

Pull everything you can, battery, HDD, cd drive, etc. Leave the RAM, and hook up the AC adapter. If it still will not post, then it is a motherboard problem, which will need replacing.- Hi.I have an Inspiron 8500 with an identical problem. The caps lock light blinks 9 times, then it and the power light both go out. Nothing else. The power supply is outputting the correct voltage, and I have two extra batteries for this machine. No combination of batteries, power supply, etc. when trying to turn on the machine makes any difference.Had someone do a cursory look at it. He removed the hard drive, re-installed it, and re-seated the memory cards. The machine then booted up perfectly, and ran untill it was turned off. Then again, nothing except the beep code. Can anyone shed some light on what this code is, what the machine is trying to tell me/?Thanks!Dennis
