Inspiron 7548 fan problem
My 15 inch i5 7548 is just 7 weeks old. Up until yesterday I had only heard the fan run briefly a couple times and I was very pleased that this laptop was very cool and quiet like using a tablet. Yesterday I changed out the HDD for an SSD and ever since the fan runs nearly non-stop on low and frequently steps up to high.
I am a 25+ year IT Professional and have worked on laptops for years. The replacement was easy and went smoothly and I didn't have any problems with the SSD replacement and didn't touch anything other than the hard drive screws. I haven't had any problems with errors or crashes.
Why is the fan running all the time since replacing the HD with an SSD? It should have gone the other direction and run even quieter and cooler than it was with the HD! Suggestions?
Others have had similar issues but mine was ok (when working) but I would suggest going into Windows Power Options and try switching to between the hidden High Performance profile, Balanced etc to see if that make and difference and it if does you can them compare the settings under the Intel TDP related settings which control fan / cpu speed. The only other thing I can think is depending on how you cloned your old HDD for the SSD the alignment might be off on the SSD and / or some drivers might not be installed.

I would suggest you to update the BIOS on the computer. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, then download the BIOS required onto the system and install it.

Also, I would suggest that you run the diagnostics on the computer by following the steps mentioned in the video below and check if there is any issue with the hardware on your system.
