INSPIRON: BOOT PROBLEMS
During boot,my INSPIRON 5150 blinks 10 times (the caps lock light) and shuts down. Does anyone know what this code means? There are no beeps, no post, nothing else but the power light comes on (hard drive is not spun). I know it's a memory problem (this happens only with one DIMM slot), but it would help to know exactly what the code means. Thanks to anybody willing to educate me.

My 5100 is doing the same thing. I have gone round and round with Dell Support just to talk to someone without a heavy accent and got them to tell me its the motherboard. I have one bad Dimm Slot (Dimm A died) and only Dimm B works, but it is the motherboard, I have exactly 10 blinks before it dies, but surprisingly it will boot up after a while, who knows, but it is the motherboard more than likely.
