Inspiron touchpad glidebars

I just reloaded windows xp, with Dell tech help, onto my Inspiron 6000. The touchpad works, but the glidebars do not. What can I do?

Your talking about the things on the side of your touch pad that scrolls up and down, and sideways right? I think you have to install "Synpatics Pointing Device" program to make them work. Look for them in the drivers and downloads.

and once uve got the above program installed u have to make sure that u have the slide bars turned on

Thanks for your help. I can not find "Synpatics Pointing Device" in the drivers downloads.

hello there

Go to Control Panel. Double click of mouse/pointing devices. Under this option, you would find a option "Enable scroll function". Check that option to see the scroll bar on the touchpad work
