internet reconnection?

Hello forum users,

had to re-install XP on my M233ST Latitude CP laptop due to a defective hard drive.  I was baffled as to why internet connection was non-existent.  I now know that I'm needing to revitalise the NIC drivers, which my nephew who as kindly downloaded them onto a disc. When I open the 3com utility and Intergrated Network driver,a DOS window appears and requests that I need formatting diskettes, can the drivers be put onto a disc instead?

thanks

Paul

    Paul,

When you reinstalled the operating system, did you install the Desktop/Notebook system software and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Start with the Desktop/Notebook system software and the chipset drivers and follow the list.
