Also I recommend you to clean the air vents with a can of compressed air and use the system on a flat surface where there is good air circulation.

When installing windows 8 all the drivers are almost there. Only the fingerprint and the free fall drivers were missing. I have installed only the free fall sensor driver, not yet the finger prints.

I also installed the Nvidia Drivers and the security patch.

I also downloaded the Chipset driver from the link you sent me but could not install it. I received this error "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software"

The system is new and I dont think it needs cleaning of the air vents, however I will try it. I Always use on on my desk.

I have the exact same problem. I upgraded my new Latitude E6430 to windows 8 and the fans won't stop running (I never used it with windows 7). Also fingerprints driver is not working. Please update if you have a solution.

Hi Anas Diab,

I recommend you to flash BIOS from the link given below and it should resolve the issue with the fan:

Note: While flashing BIOS connect the Ac adapter and make sure the battery has minimum 15% charge as this needs uninterrupted power supply. Do not use the system till it restarts and comes up to the desktop.

With regards to fingerprint, I would like to know if the Fingerprint feature is not working or if you are unable to download fingerprint driver from the support website.

My BIOS was already updated to A09. I downgraded to Win7 at the issue is the same.

The fan keeps spinning at low speed all the time and faster when the temp reaches somewhere about 65-70C. At the start up the temp are above 50C and the battery at full capacity indicates taht it will last only 1h and 30 min.

I have been using this system for less than 6 months and spent a lot in it. Averything is new.

Either the battery is dyiing very quickly, or BIOS update to A09 was an error or any recent update of Windows/Dell is causing all this.

I updated BIOS and the fans still run noticeably loader than my previous latitude (4 years old). I just want to know if this is how it is like in all laptops of this model or if there a problem with this specific one. How can I do that? is there some kind of a test that would indicate if there is a problem related to fans?

Thank you for the update.

I suggest that you uninstall the Video driver from the Device manager. While deleting check the box ‘Delete the software’ and restart the system and install the NVidia driver from the following link:

Restart the system, run complete Windows update and check the fan functionality.

In case if there is loud sound, I suggest that you run diagnostics on the CPU Fan.

I request you run the test on the Touchpad. Restart the system and at the Dell logo keep taping the F12 key every 2 seconds. This will start the One-time boot menu. Using arrow keys select ‘Diagnostics’ and hit enter. This will run quick test without waiting for your input. To select a specific test, wait till the quick test completes, next a list of test available will be displayed. Please select CPU fan, check ‘Thorough Test mode’ and click Run tests. Please reply with the status to assist you further.

My case is resolved

what I basically did was downgrade to BIOS A07, remove the graphic driver and install the latest driver from nVidia website.
