Latitude Laptop Restart Problem
I've had a recurring problem with restarting my PC for quite sometime. A Latitude laptop in a docking station is my desktop PC but has not been used portable for a long time. Several months ago it frequently stopped restarting when required and had to be powered back on manually each time. Now that happens with every restart and, for that reason, I've stopped any automatic software updates requiring restart from installing unless I'm at the computer. I don't know if this is some change I've accidentally made to the PC configuration but I'd appreciate any feedback on correcting this issue.
Along this same line, it's now become difficult to power on the computer. I usually have to undock and dock several times before it will power on. This same problem occurs when the laptop is not in the docking station and the AC power is plugged in. I don't know if this is a hardware problem or not.
Both of the above problems started at about the same time.
Thank you for any feedback you can offer.

Thanks AoParasite,
No! I've not heard from anyone else on any suggestions and I still don't have any solutions. Either not many laptop users visit this forum or my problem(s) are not being experienced by others. I would have thought that an anonymous someone from Dell would post some help here but I guess their "free" support is a thing of the past.
I'm still looking for answers. If I find them, I'll post them here for you and anyone else that may need.

Hey Mickey, I have found that a reinstallation of my OS fixed my restart issue. I think it was an update that I applied that caused the problem to begin with, but I was unable to find it, so I wiped to check my theory. Sure enough, I have not added any other updates other than what is required and it restarts everytime I initiate that option. It has been about 2 months now with 0% failure. I'm not sure if there is an easier, non destructive way, but that is all that I was able to find. Hope this helps.

Mickey,
I'm having the same 'restart' issue. I've been looking around for a solution, and this is where I have ended up. Have you been able to resolve your problem? Or can anyone offer some helpful info as to what the cause could be?
Thanks in advance!
