Need Help with Motherboard....
Well, today i was just informed from Dell that i needed a new motherboard for my inspiron 5100. Well, here is the problem: one of my RAM slots is not reading the RAM card so right now I'm running on one ram card and my computer is just dead slow and very hard to run all my programming programs for college. So, i was wondering if anyone knows how much this will cost me to fix. i have to call dell out-of-service-warranty place in the morning and see the damage that will take on my wallet. Any information will be great to find out. Thanks

I'm sure you're aware but you can go up to a stick of 512 in the one working slot you have -- if you need a gig, you need a gig though (not sure what your needs are -- the 5100 isn't a powerhouse at anyrate).
you might consider a 3rd party repair place -- anything they can do will be considerably cheaper than buying a refurb motherboard from dell
