Please Help! E1705 Stuttering!

Hello, I posted this on the forums, but for some reason it was removed by the admins. Anyways I have a e1705 about a year old (warranty expired about 2 weeks ago) and within the last week it has started stuttering all the time. When I move the mouse it will "stick" every 5 secs or so, video stutters every couple secs and all my games as well. I tried updating drivers, virus scan, spyware/adware scan, full diagnostics from bios, the Hard Drive PIO check as recommended by others etc... I even did a complete clean install so it's "factory fresh" and I still get the stutter. I recently installed Tabula Rasa and that started to stutter so I thought it was the game, but I tried other games and they are doing the same thing now. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Hard Drive, virus, video card, RAM going out? I am running a program to check the temps on everything and it all looks good. My system specs are below, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! E1705 Core 2 Duo T7200 2 Gb Crucial RAM Go 7900gs Windows XP SP2

There are two scans, I ran the first one last night and there were no errors. The second one is still running and so far there are no errors. I'm at work now, but should know more tonight when I get home.

What do the Dell diagnostics (F12 at boot) indicate?

I have the EXACT same problem and have done the same things you have done to remedy this situation.... short of replacing the drive.... my warranty too JUST went out a week before when the warranty ceased. Coincidence???? LOL Tell me what you have done to remedy this? All CDROM games and DVD's stutter. However all audio only disc's play perfectly.... I'm perplexed?

Alright I managed to fix it and I feel stupid for not checking it first. I have some new RAM I purchased a couple of months ago and it has worked great. So, I decided to try the old RAM out to see if the new RAM was the problem and it worked! So I put the new RAM back in to figure out which stick it was and it works fine now. So it looks like the RAM just needed to be reseated. Give it a try if you haven't already.
