studio 1745 drivers for Windows XP x64 Bit
Hello
Did anybody install a win xp on this platform and got all the neccesary drivers for it?
I wonder if it is possible at all. Spent lots of hours looking for drivers, but did find only Realtek Network and Synaptics Pointing drivers. Looks like it works and have no issues. There is one more driver ati high definition audio controler installed. But not tested yet.
One of most important video card drivers for ati mobility 4650 - all I found, just failed.
I could stay only on Windos 7 and enjoy watching movies or play some games once in a while, but at the moment I need 2 OS to be installed (prefer Win XP), as I frequently use very inportant car softwares, which are not campatible with any other OS except windows xp 32-64.
Will be very very thankfull for any info, links how to get the drivers.
thanks for your time

Hi
I found some, but not all of them unfortunately.
Problems:
ATI Radeon Graphics - CCC drivers didn't work even after I tried to use mobility modder.
Sound card, Mass Storage Controller, Wi-Fi, etc. - no luck at all.
Only Touchpad drivers - no issues. Works OK
Realtek Network adapter looks like works fine if you want to get connected to broadbant, but not working 1394 Network Adapter.
HDMI output, (installs running CCC), definitely OK, but I didn't test it.
Sometimes later I have some plans to install virtual PC Windows XP mode for the Windows 7. Will see how it goes.
I managed to install all drivers except ati redeon and 1394 network adapter. Dont ask me how i did but it was very difficult to get them. It took one and half day to
get them from diff web sites. And one more thing this tool help me alot which i m posting here for u guys as well.

Welcome to the forums :emotion-21:
Unfortunately, if the drivers for Vista 64bit don't work (which is unlikely), since Windows XP isn't one of the OS supported by Dell on the Studio 1745, you're on your own I'm afraid :emotion-6:
Re the graphics drivers: Have a read of this AMD forums thread.
Some forum members have managed to use the standard desktop/Catalyst drivers for their Mobility 4xxx series cards, following the advice offered in the first post :emotion-5:
