Is there any way to eliminate the trackpad tap function, without loading the synaptics software?

When the Synaptics software is loaded, you get the problem with freezing of the pointer after typing on the keyboard.

Eliminate the Synaptics software, and you can't disable tapping!

Any ideas? Third party utilities?
