typing problem with Dell precission 6400
I just both a brand new Dell precission M6400 about one month ago. it runs vista SP1 and it fully loaded. (quad processor at 2.5Ghz)
However, when I type fast word, or emails, after a few words, or lines a few invisible keys get activated from time to time and the text starts to change format, inserts tabs, etc. It acts like a control key gets activated and it can only be errased when I use backspace and errase one more characters than where the problems starts.
I changed the keyboard already and I upgrades to the latest drivers and bios A03. I have never seen this problem and was wondering if anybody has a clue where to look.
I tried to use an external keyboard and I could not reproduct the problem. It is also not happening all the time and seam to depent how fast I type. The faster the more likely I get this problem feature activated.
Is this a hardware or software problem. Since the external keyboard seam to work ok, i don't know where to look for the problem.
Any help is appreciated since this should not happen on a brand new, top of the line Dell computer.

I had this exact same thing happen to me. I even wrote a keylogger, and saw 4 or 5 CTRL's pressed while I was typing. I had emails close, dialogs popping up, etc. Very very annoying. It turned out to be the touchpad, when I disabled it, the problem went away. I then put it back, and put the palm check on high, and disabled the new jog functionality. With this set, it doesn't occur. If I put jog back, it happens. My guess is that I am somehow triggering a macro with my palm!
I do like the touchpad, it's a shame. I have had a lot of issues with this machine since I got it, but overall I like the performance and display too much to send it back.
