Which wireless card should I use?

I have a Inspiron 600m with Intel centrino processor and Intel 2915 wireless card built in.My question is do I need to use this wireless card or would I be better off using an external one.My current wireless router is from NetGear. Also are there any benefits to using one over the other?

The Netgear router I have is capable of speeds of 108 mbps as long as I use the right wireless card.

Please tell me the pro's and con's.

Thank You

The obvious pro to using the internal card is that it doesn't stick out the side of the computer.

If you're not accessing a home network to transfer big data files, then the real speed issue is with the internet.  Your router can theoretically run at 108, but practically is much less.  The 2915 can run at 54, but is less.  And the internet is maybe 4-6.  So, there is no reason to use a faster card unless you are transferring a lot of data in a network.
