Within the Dell Latitude E7440 their is a UEFI (BIOS) setting which you can set which by default such that if your using wireless and connected, then plug in a wired (Gb) connection, once it scans though to validate connectivity, it disables the wireless link.

This sounds great for your average home user who gets confused which cable they are plugged into, but I am not one of those.   I many times use wireless to get to internet, then use Gb wired connection to program a device or connect to private network segment and work on system.   I set this to "disabled" as a feature within the UEFI and also reviewed the Intel Wireless advanced driver options for option to effect this but it does not appear to be available.  

My guess is that this is some kind of windows 8.1 policy setting but cannot find it.  Searching Microsoft forums has pushed that this is a "Dell Driver Issue".   Please advise how to disable this "wireless disable upon wired connection" setting.
