Wireless Connection

In travelling on the road, I have had some problems connecting via wi-fi. Basically, the connection was frequently inconsistent... At first, I blamed the wi-fi service, but now I think it's my card. Specifically, I tried to connect to my home network, but it didn't work. So, I had a SafeCom USB wifi card, and bingo, I was straight in... Have other people had problems?

Bye for now

There is a very very long discussion of the 3945 wireless adapter over on the Network/Internet/Wireless forum.  In short, have you tried downloading and installing the latest drivers for that card?

Yes, the latest drivers are there... I think it's a fault with the card. The key symptom (forget about connecting) is that many times the internal card doesn't even see the network. That is, if I put the USB nic in, it sees the network (which is only about 10 feet away). If I use the internal Intel card, many times it is unable to even see that there is a network there. Admittedly, the network isn't broadcasting the SSID, but it should still be able to see it.

In any case, I'll transfer this topic over to the existing thread you mentioned.

    Thanks
