wireless

I recently moved my wireless 1350 WLAN Mini-PCI Card from a 5160 to a 5150, it can see the wireless router but it won't connect to the internet, but connects when plugged into the router. What am I missing? I figured it would be as simple as plug/n/play.
Thanks again!

Did you install the drivers for the 1350 on the 5150?

Is it a secure network? If yes, what kind of encryption? Are absolutely, 100%, without any doubt whatsoever, positvely, sure that you are entering the correct encryption key?

To help troubleshoot this problem, on the computer with the problem, go to Start > Run and type cmd then click OK. In the command prompt window that opens, type ipconfig /all then hit the enter key. Write down the output from this command or select it and save it to a txt file, then copy this output into a reply to this message.

xing out all of the ip information makes the ipconfig output TOTALLY USELESS.  If you think that it is insecure to post ip information - GET REAL!  The internet would not work if every web site in the universe could not determine the ip address of the computer from which you are browsing.   If you want help, you will have to provide that information.  If you are still paranoid, leave out just the last three numbers of each entry.

Sorry dude.....I posted the wrong info....I checked all my network settings, I even had Verizon logged into my notebook and they checked just about every config. Just so you know, the 5150 now has my 5160 hard drive etc. not sure if this has anything to do with anything or not...I appreciate the help.
    Thanks,
    F.

This output shows that you are connected to the internet throught the wired cable.  If the wireless card is set to disable the wireless connection if it detects a wired connection, then the wireless won't connect and the ipconfig output will not tell us anything.  Could you please run the ipconfig command again, only this time, do it with the ethernet cable not plugged into the router.

The wireless card is not seeing a wireless network.  If you open Network Connections, right click the Wireless network connection, and select View Available Wireless Networks, do any networks show up there?  If so, does your network (router) show up there?
