Open START RUN. Type msconfig

 

In the startup tab see if it is listed.

 

May be a good idea to remove all drivers and software related to it and see if it helps.

Your the man I went into startup and logitech setpoint software was running so i disabled it rebooted and problem solved.

here is what i found on the synaptic site

 

After I have rebooted my system, the settings for Double-Click Speed and Pointer Speed revert to their default settings.

The device driver for a different pointing device is interfering with these settings. If you have recently installed a driver for a pointing device, you need to uninstall that driver (or drivers) to regain control of the Double-Click Speed and Pointer Speed settings.

I did install software for the logitch bluetooth mouse hoever it stated that it would not install the pointer software as i already had touchpad drivers installed

Yes Many people are having the same issue. It is a known bug in the software.

 

I am yet to find a working fix for this, but I do know there are people on other forums that have modified these drivers themselves for other laptop makes.
