There's no one answer - you'll have to call to ask.

 

I ordered mine on 06/26. I just called to check on the status of the order and the automated system informed me that it was in the "Boxing" stage of production and the estimated ship date was 07/18. It didnt make much sense to me that it would take nearly two weeks to box up a laptop and ship it, so I called customer service to get clarification. The nice lady that I spoke with (after being transfered 3 times) stated that the production had been completed and the order was being boxed and should ship within the next couple of days.

 

I wouldnt rely on the email that you received regarding your order. You might give them a call and see what their records indicate.  

Well Woody, your delay sounds about right, because I ordered mine on 6/21. The original ship date was 7/8, and now it is being delayed to 7/11. I am not sure if Dell will delay it more after that. That is ridiculous though about yours being in "Boxing" and being delayed that long. This same thing happened to Dell last year because of painting. Some people's were delayed for months just because of a color choice. Oh well, what can you do? :smileyindifferent:

I also have the same problem. I ordered my lap the 25th of June and at the beginning it was delayed for a week. Hmm maybe its because I ordered a better processor. My status stands now for 2 weeks at Pre-production. I called the helpdesk but they say that they wait for the equipments.

guys i had same prob ordered 6/23 had a est shipping date 8/6. i called complained about time was gonna cancel order. they asked me to wait a few days i said ok. was shipped 6/28 had im my hands on 6/30.

had to good of a deal i prob wouldnt have but the threat seemed to work.

The automated line says mine is in the Build stage, so I guess I'm not waiting on parts?  I ordered on 7/1, ESD of 7/23.  Looks like I'll have it a good bit sooner than that, but that begs the question, why bother giving an ESD if it's not a somewhat reliable indicator of when the customer will receive the PC?
