About a week ago, my M1710 shut off due to an overheating issue (I had forgot to put the laptop on a flat surface, and one of the exhaust vents was covered).

I waited a few minutes for it to cool off, and then I turned it back on, and was greeted by the "Your computer was operating warmer than recommended" message.  Alright, fine.  After that, everything seemed to be fine.  But then the computer shut off again, after only having been on about five minutes.

I tried to turn it on again, but when I pressed the power button, the power came on for roughly one second, and then it shut off again, not even enough time for it to display anything on the screen.

I figured I'd wait until the next morning to try again, but even then, the same things happens.  The system is receiving power, it just turns off one second after the power button is pressed.

Then, about five days later, the system turned on again when I tried it.  I was thrilled, but it only stayed on about an hour before it shut down and refused to turn back on.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I cleaned out the fans with a gas duster, but didn't want to open up the laptop without further input.  Thank you.
