it is alos in the marketing info... "Delivers distortion-free, sharp images with 600:1 contrast ratio and 12 millisecond response time"

    http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-4335

could the banding problem fix caused a reduction in contrast value???

Nah, that whole thing seems pretty much copy and pasted from the 2007 menu. Notice it says the viewable size is 20.1 inches.

Don't worry, the contrast ration is still 1000:1.

Seems to be an error in the listing. The users guide lists it as 1000:1. It seems someone simply copied the 2007 listing over to the 2407.

The users guide is here, incase you want to look for yourself.
