3008 WFP

I recently purchased the 3008WFP Rev 2 and so far I am not pleased. I am using a Nvidia GT220 card and running the screen at the native resolution using Windows7 on my DELL XPS8000. I am finding the text font sometimes has a thinge of red/green and this is making reading text in say outlook very hard. I have to really stare at the screen to read. Also the colours are not pleasing to the eye. I dont have a calibration device and not sure what to do now. I have tried a icc profile from the tftcentral website but this has made no difference. I have spoken with Dell are they are happy to replace the screen with a refurbished one NOT a brand new one :(

Also sometimes when I power the screen up everything looks fine but other times I power up the font has this red/green thinge any ideas?

The Nvidia GT220 has DVI-I Dual Link port. The 3008WFP requires DVI-D Dual Link devices. Look at the end of the DVI cable connected to the monitor. Which one of these does it look like?

Do you have these drivers loaded?
    3008WFP Windows 7 driver

I am not sure what version of Windows 7 you have -
    GT220 Windows 7 32bit driver
    GT220 Windows 7 64bit driver

    Hello,

I have spent all weekend calibrating the monitor using Xrite Eye-One display 2, http://www.xrite.com/product_overview.aspx?ID=788 along with their software.  Once calibrated I can see a improvement but the red/green tinge around fonts against white backgrounds is still there. I am starting to get the impression this monitor is defective from day one.  I have only had this monitor since mid-November and would like to exchange it for a brand new one. How can I go about this?

Looking at the dell site  http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=bsd&cs=ukbsdt1&sku=142660 they say the following:

"The Dell UltraSharp 3008WFP is backed by a Dell 3-Years Next Business Day Service level including the Dell’s Premium Panel Guarantee that can be extended up to 5 years. The Premium Panel Guarantee ensures replacement of your monitor should even one bright defective pixel be found on the screen during the warranty period. It also does allow you to phone Dell Technical Support for troubleshooting 24x7 and get help you need."

Does anyone know the UK number for the 24x7 support?

    Thanks
