Bezel Replacement -- 2005fpw

I have a 2005fpw that is 3.5 years old. A half year out of warranty it has developed a stress crack in the upper left corner of the front bezel. I can tell it is a stress fracture because the monitor has never been struck or jolted, and it is VERY hard to press the bezel together so that the crack disappears.

I don't mind having to buy a replacement bezel, but I can't even seem to do that. Dell parts says they don't carry parts for the monitor. Dell out of warranty service says they can't repair it for me. They couldn't tell me of any supplier that might carry the part.

They suggested I buy another monitor. Oh, re-he-healy? (Jim Carrie-style)

I paid $600 for this thing a little over 3 years ago. I've paid more for a monitor, but I'm not about to throw this thing away just because the bezel is cracked. I've tried to use epoxy to glue it together, but it separates again.

Can anyone help me with a source for this bezel?

A broken used monitor is your best bet. Another option might be to get some plastic weld. It is sold where they sell those 2 part epoxy mixes. It seems to work better on plastic. I'd open the monitor and do it from the back. Adding a piece to reinforce the area might help. I've seen the stuff at walmarts

Plastic weld, eh? I guess I'll give that a shot if I can't find a used monitor to use as a parts source. I'm not particularly handy when working with stuff like this. My favorite tool is my checkbook.

Thanks for the suggestion. Regular epoxy certainly didn't do the job. But I don't think I can use anything behind the bezel to reinforce the "weld" because I'm pretty sure the break was caused by the thing being under too much stress from the way it was assembled. It is VERY hard to press the sides of the crack together.
