DDM, UP2716D, U2717D

Having difficulties after several Microsoft Updates, GeForce Updates, and Alienware updates applied this week; DDM versions no longer detect my two U2717D nor my UP21716D

Updated wit Windows 10 1809 build 18290.1000
Aurora R6 + GeForce 1080; drivers at 417.01 latest

No changes in hardware setup. GTX DP -> DP on both U2717D; GTX DP -. mDP UP2716D

This functions as expected on another PC using the DDM build 1.31.0.1887
Have tried current DDM, above build, and n-2 build. Remove. Reboot. Install. Reboot. Test

DDM is in tray, but says to connect a dell monitor. DDM will not open further. Can generate DDM reports (appears to enumerate the listed models as expected)

Ideas? (Sorry if re-post, last post failed mid-post)

Try posting the DDM diagnostic report you have generated. It will reveal why its not working.

Nothing is being enumerated by Windows, though gfx cards and monitors are obviously present. Its possible a system update left device management in an exceptional state. Try the following steps:

    1. Open Device Manager (devmgmt.msc)

    2. Uninstall everything *under* "Monitors" (not the Monitors hive itself) by right-clicking on each entry and selecting "Uninstall"

    3. Uninstall everything *under* "Display adapters" (not the Display adapters hive itself) - display settings will change but not to worry since they'll be changed back in the next step

    4. Now go up to the Action menu in the DevManager menu bar and select "Scan for hardware changes"

Your NVidia display driver should be installed from scratch and the monitors re-registered
