Dell 2001FPW

I orderered a dell 2001FP but they deliverered a Dell 2001 FPW instead. Are there any significant differeneces, besides the contrast ratio, which is 600 for the fpw and 400 for the FP? in adddition, the FPW does not hold colors, meaning everttime I reboot the computer, I have to reset the monitor to my color of preference. Also, there are dead pixels and about 0.5inch half moon on all corners of the monitor.  Are there these normal phenomenon, I hope not, especially for a brand new monitor. Calls to the tech support proved completely useless as the so called technicians do not know beans about the monitor. They stalll by asking a littany of questions hoping you wil go away. One way or the other, Dell, will replace the monitor, which is why I neeed to know if the FPW and the FP are equivalent in performance and display. I know it is unusuall for a monitor to not hold the color, in fact if I switch back to my old monitor, I do not have any issues. It is sad that Dells's technical support is retrogressing and sooner or later is boung to cost sales and loss of customers

    eakpan,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

There are no 2001 fpw monitors. Are you sure you didn't receive the 2005fpw monitor instead of the 2001fp?

The 2005FPW has a higher contrast ratio and faster response time than the 2001fp. It's generally just a better monitor all around except for the light leaking problem you're having. I'm having it too.
