U2720Q, can't adjust display brightness

Hi all,

The brightness adjustment on my U2720Q monitor is locked at 75%, and is greyed out. Any ideas on why this is? A quick google did not yield any useful results, outside of this old U2711 post. I'm hoping it is not a hardware issue.

    Do you have HDR enabled in Windows Display Properties?

    I’m on Mac, but yes HDR is enabled. The monitor itself is in Smart HDR mode.

    Thats normal in HDR mode which is at peak brightness; user brightness adjustments will be disabled by design. To verify, turn HDR off on the Mac and SmartHDR off in the monitor OSD and see if brightness is enabled.
