7.6.3 unresponsive during media db backups

During the last few weeks, the media db is taking long, about 30 minutes and networker is unresponsive. This happens a number of times during the day with the following message in the log files : -

nsrmmdbd 52 media db is saving its data.  This may take a while.

The mmvol backup is physically increasing during this period ( /nsr/mm ), so the backup is working but why is this happening so many times during the day?

Is there a way to schedule this?

Thanks

Yes, search forum for index groups or similar.  In essence, create group in which each client will go and set attribute index only on it.  On all other groups set no index save and make sure backup server is in scheduled and enabled group.  With that, your indices will be backed when index group runs (and bootstrap).  The only other time when bootstrap will be save is when backup server client is backing up.

With a few exceptions, the backup server should not be backed up more than once a day .... if he (the client) is a menger of an active group. If not - just as a precaution - NW will run a bootstrap with every group.

So, the kernel message in addition to Hrvoje's statement is: " ...and make sure that the group is enabled! - otherwise this will not help."
