Hi,
After doing daily incrementals, i have a full backup at the end of the week.
my question is: if i had an incremental on saturday and sunday then a full on monday, and i deleted a file on sunday that was backed up on saturday. can i restore this deleted file after monday. i mean does the full backup includes all incrementals, or it only saves the last incremental.
A full backup means the file backed up would have all the changes till the time of backup and when you restore for this file after a full backup, it is a single file recovery.
Incremental file restored would mean it would first restore the corresponding full backup file followed by all subsequent incremental backups of the file depending on the level (Incr or Level backups) you have set.
So, you can restore any file on Monday but if you want to restore its version backed up after Monday's Full backup - it is a single file restored and if you want to restore the file that was last backed up during Saturday's incrementals, it would restore the that file's last full onwards.
Recovering older versions is possible if they are still retained.
In short, for recovery of a file with last full - a single file would have all increments(in a way) actually it is the lasty updated file.
Recovery of Full+Incr and you select recovery on Incr date would recover the Full and Incr both - so that would be multiple stage process, may need multiple media and time based on the your pool configuration.
Your incremental on Satirday and Monday are not part of same backup cycle as full on Monday (that one starts new backup cycle). You can restore data from Saturday as long as that data is recoverable (in case of browsable restore you will need to change browstime and in case of ssid restore you will need to know exact restore).
Description of full and incremental (and differential) backups is explained very well in documentation.

Does this help?
