Offsite cloning

Hello,

We have 2 sites, each one with a Networker Server, a local Storage Node, an offsite Storage Node and a Data Domain. There is a cloning process that writes the data into the Data Domain present in the another site. I would like to simulate a scenario where we lost the site B, for example, and restore the cloned data into another server from site A. How can I scan the data present in the local DD of a client from another datazone?

Thanks in advance,

Reginaldo

    Just define the appropriate device on the "target" data zone.

    Then use the "scanner" command to extract all metadata as usual.

    Thanks for your reply, Bingo. I am aware of the procedures, but it is not working, could you please take a look and see if it is correct ?

    In site B I listed the device name:

    nsradmin> show name

    nsradmin> print type: NSR device

                            name: \

    "rd=spcdf1011.x.y.z:spgdf1021.x.y.z_01spcdf1011";

    When I try to scan this device in site A, it shows an error message:

    C:\Windows\system32>scanner -ni rd=spcdf1011.x.y.z:spgdf1021.x.y.z_01spcdf1011

    8909:scanner: using 'rd=spcdf1011.x.y.z:spgdf1021.x.y.z_01spcdf1011' as the device name

    95505:scanner: Cannot stat spgdf1021.x.y.z_01spcdf1011: No such file or directory

    Scanner needs a local device. Run the scanner command on the storage node and use the scanner option "-s servername" to direct the metadata to the NetWorker server.
