Latest version is 7.5.1

You should be able to upgrade but there is a media database conversion between the two versions so there is no rollback, if you have an issue then to revert you have to do a full DR so ensure you make an ad hoc backup of media db and indexes before shutting down for the upgrade.

Since there is no information about your environment it is not easy to assess if you may have problems - read the release notes and compatibility guide to see if there may be issues - there are some quite significant changes to licensing (VTL, Virtual Machines, ClientPaks etc) so address any issues with EMC licensing prior to upgrade and also ensure you have the relevant upgrade enabler. It is recommended that your storage nodes are updated to the same version as the backup server; clients are less important immediately but note 7.3 is now out of support unless you purchase the extended support and in general I would suggest your client is no less than 2 major versions behind your server.

The media db and licensing changes apply to this version too. I would go for the latest 7.4.x version as between versions there has tended to be an increase in stability of NMC and nsrlcpd...

i would go for 7.4.3

You can upgrade to 7.4 SP4 aka 7.4.4.

7.3.x no lnger supported unless you have extended support contract.
Remember, there is no easy roll back between 7.3.x and 7.4.x as the DB structure change between these two versions. New set of enablers also need to be apply.

Does upgrading from v7.3.2 to 7.4.4 requires me to buy the software, new licenses and enablers as mentioned?

Somebody told me that I can move forward from v7.3.2 to v7.3.4 on my Solaris 10 box by just applying the patch. Is this true?

No Licenses are need to be purchased for upgrading Networker from 7.3.2 to 7.4.4.

You wont need to purchase new licenses but you have to obtain and apply new enablers. This can be obtained from licensing@emc.com

If you have purchased maintenance then the cost of the license upgrade is taken into account... You just need to email licensing@emc.com and they will give you a single enabler code called an update enabler which will make all your licenses valid in the new version; you can apply the update enabler before you upgrade if you wish...
