What NDMP is?

I just moved to a new company 5 months ago, and I notced that there is a license for one NDMP client?
I need to know what NDMP is?

Network Data Management protocol. If you are backing up some kind of NAS device you will need NDMP.

Most common devices are Netapp or EMC Celera.

Its for backing up NAS filers - its a way of backing the data that is stored there in a more efficient manner.
