As the title says I'm trying to find a good compatible monitor for my laptop. I currently use a 7 year old monitor and can barely play games on it at all because of the input lag. Can someone please point me in the direction of preferably a 144hz monitor that I can use successfully with my laptop for gaming? Also the right cable to do the job with it? I'd really appreciate it as I don't want to waste money on something I'll only get 60 hz out of. I have the I7 and GTX 1060, and will be upgrading to 2x 16GB DDR4 2666MHz cards for memory if that helps.

@Jp390 you can use HDMI if you want, and the system has an HDMI 2.0 output. I just default to DisplayPort because it has some additional capabilities that HDMI doesn't -- including G-Sync support, although that probably won't come into play on this system. And this might not be an issue on a brand new display you'd buy today, but note that some displays only perform at their maximum specs over DisplayPort rather than HDMI. The reason is that at any given time, DisplayPort has always supported more bandwidth and therefore higher resolution/refresh rates than the HDMI spec of the same time. For example, 4K 60 Hz has been supported on DisplayPort since DP 1.2 that arrived even before 4K 60 Hz displays because mainstream, whereas HDMI only started supporting it with HDMI 2.0, which arrived relatively recently. As a result, there are several 4K 60 Hz displays on the market that will only accept that signal over their DisplayPort input, because they were built at a time when the most recent HDMI spec couldn't handle that. The same might be true for high refresh rates.But you can always try HDMI if you want. Just make sure you get an HDMI cable that's specifically rated for HDMI 2.0. Sometimes you'll see that marked as 4K 60 Hz, High Speed, or 18 Gbps. With USB-C to DisplayPort cables it's easy because USB-C supports DisplayPort 1.2 at a minimum, and there are very few displays on the market that support the newer specs for anything other than daisy-chaining, which wouldn't apply if you're only connecting a single external display.

@Jp390 maximum refresh rate will depend at least partly on the display resolution you're running and what the display will accept over the input you're trying to use. The display resolution, refresh rate, and color depth (which is almost always 8-bit per color or 24-bit total) determine the amount of bandwidth required to send the signal to the display, and that figure has to be within the capabilities of the display output you're using. Additionally, some displays will only accept certain resolutions and refresh rates over certain inputs. For example, early 4K 60 Hz displays would only accept that signal on their DisplayPort inputs because 4K 60 Hz wasn't supported over HDMI until HDMI 2.0, which didn't exist in the early days of 4K 60 Hz displays. And you might find that even the 75 Hz displays won't accept that over VGA.But perhaps more importantly if you're looking at this for gaming purposes, be aware that on most laptops that have both an Intel and NVIDIA GPU, most or all display outputs are still controlled by the Intel GPU, with the NVIDIA GPU operating only indirectly via a technology called NVIDIA Optimus. On displays connected via outputs that the NVIDIA GPU does not directly control, you will not be able to use cannot use Adaptive V-Sync or G-Sync. Your only options are V-Sync Off or V-Sync On, and that creates a bit of dilemma when dealing with a high refresh rate display. If you use V-Sync Off, then you can see frame tearing, which is precisely what V-Sync is meant to eliminate. But if you turn V-Sync On, then when using a high refresh rate display, you'll need to make sure your system can maintain a stable frame rate equal or greater than the display's refresh rate, because whenever it can't, you'll see stuttering or judder, which can be just as distracting and annoying as frame tearing. This gets tricky on laptops with high refresh rate displays, at least if you want to avoid turning the detail way down. This dilemma is precisely why G-Sync was created, since it eliminates frame tearing while also allowing the display's refresh rate to change based on the frame rate the GPU can handle at any given time, which means you also eliminate stutter/judder -- but again that probably won't be available in your case. G-Sync also requires using DisplayPort rather than HDMI anyway, fyi. I'm not sure about Adaptive V-Sync.All that said, I've seen Intel GPUs in laptops support at least up to 120 Hz when running at a resolution that doesn't exceed the bandwidth available over the video connector type, for what it's worth. Using DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI 2.0, 120 Hz should be possible at least up to QHD (2560x1440).

BGP conditional advertisement

Hi,

We are evaluate BGP features of FTOS 9/10. Do you know a feature in BGP that receive a route from a neighbor and split them into smaller subnet and advertise to other bgp neighbors. Basically something like BGP conditional advertisement.

Hi.

I try to look for some similar features like that. Basically, how to advertise a child prefixes that is learnt from other neighbour to other peers. Cisco has inject-map so I am trying to find something similar in Dell FTOS.
