Tried to install a program that ended up causing Vista to BSOD. Restarting repeated the BSOD. I didn't have a restore point, so I tried applying a fresh coat of Vista. I had turned off Bluetooth before I did and now I can't get it back.
The driver program asks me to hit Fn+F2 (the hotkey) to toggle the WiFi card on during setup. When I do so, the "WiFi" indicator toggles, but the program doesn't detect the Bluetooth module. I've tried this ~25 times with every driver I can find on your site (the first 10 or so was with the latest 355 driver program).
I checked BIOS, I have both, the WiFi, and the BT enabled with the hotkey controlling both. I have tried setting it to only having BT enabled and only having the hot keys controlling BT, but no help.
While in Windows, when I hit the hotkey, a new device appears under HID in the device manager. Vista automatically labels this device as a "HID-compliant consumer control device", however I don't seem to have any control over the device. The BT icon doesn't show up in the classic view of the control panel, the BT indicator remains off, and the Dell Quick set does not show anything about BT in it.
I've tried manually installing the drivers through the device manager, but it comes up broken calling "Code 10, device cannot start."
I have tried drivers R127314 and R140135 as well as many of the 350 module drivers.
in short , uninstall the widcomm driver. Then go to the driver folder, in vista 32 bit. c:\dell\drivers\r140135 go to the win32 folder, launch the inst.exe file.
When it asks to start the BT, vait 10 min or so.
reboot the machine.
if you cant get it to work, dell have to send you a new card. Basically yours internally shut down, and software problem with vista cant turn it on.
Im still waiting for responce on a new dvd-rw, after 1 phone call, 2 emails. The drive goes missing from device manager when burning etc.
I just got back in town and had a chance to try what you said. It worked. Thanks a million. I like working with Dell's tech support on the server side, but can't stand the home side of it, and you probably saved me allot of stress.
When I got home my copy of XP was sitting at the door. It looks like this Vista nightmare is almost over.

This works everytime. Had to reload vista a couple of times now...Load the Dell drivers R140135 Bluetooth for Vista32 with M1210. Close the auto program that pops up...in the Driver folder that is now on your harddrive go into the R140135 folder open the Win32 folder and run "as administrator" the Inst application...It will install everything you need...at the end a pop up box will tell you to turn on your bluetooth adapter by fn+f2 or the wifi switch....hit cancel let it finish the install. When the bluetooth icon appears on the system tray...right click and select turn on adapter...then connect to your device. Hope it works for you..
Thanks for the tips. Sorry for not hitting back sooner. I used the hard power down trick and it worked like a charm. Now that I think about it, Casom's method is probably better, but at this point I have no need of it. As of now, everything is functioning fine. I have a 16GB SSD comming, when I get it in I'll get a chance to test XP out. Untill then, I wont be doing much with the 1505 other then internet and email. I'd switch over now, but I'm a computer admin at work and I need a testbed/experience to be able to answer many of the questions I get on a day to day basis. Prime example is the new layout of IPconfig.

i had the same issue in vista, never did get a solution.
i also turned off the BT, but couldnt turn it on again. Thats because its internally shut down, and theres a driver issue. heres a link
