Bluetooth: No Bluetooth device detected

Hi,

I got my inpiron 600m 2.5 years ago with Bluetooth(Guess 315 or 355).
Thought I did try using it in the beginning but never afterwards.
Since my warranty & service support have expired this forum is my only hope,

In Device Manager->BT Devices->Dell TrueMobile BT Module is enabled.

In Start->program files->My bluetooth(BT) places, when I try to click on any option
(Find BT places, BT Setup wizard, BT Neighbourhood, My Device) I get a dialog
"No Bluetooth Device detected".

If I rt click on My Device then properties->hardware I see
Device Status: Device is stopped. Right click on windows system tray to start.
But Unfortunately I dont see any icon BT in tray.

Pls advise.

    Hi anurooptalwar,

I will assume for now that you are running XP, is this correct?

What device are you trying to connect to? To get the icon in the bottom tray you need go to Start > All Programs > Bluetooth > Bluetooth Settings and create a paring with the device you are going to connect with. Once the Bluetooth Manager is turned on the icon should show up in the bottom. This can be removed if you've disabled it in the startup items also that you find in MSCONFIG.
